Jesus Sanchez passed away at age 90 at his home in Woodland. Jesus died of natural causes on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, surrounded by his wife and children. Jesus was born on March 20, 1923, in Totatiche, Jalisco, Mexico, and came to the U.S. in 1948.
Jesus considered as one of his greatest accomplishments becoming a U.S. citizen three weeks before his death.
Jesus is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ramona Perez. He is survived by his children Ruben Sanchez (Graciela Sanchez), Josefina Garcia (Ramon Garcia), Rutilio Sanchez (Maria Sanchez), Mario Sanchez (Esperanza Sanchez), Guadalupe Sanchez (Rosalina Sanchez), Ramon Sanchez (Adriana Sanchez), Mary Leal (Gabriel Leal), Rosario Cordova (Manuel Cordova), Griselda Jimenez (Alfredo Jimenez), and Jose Luis Sanchez (Claudia Sanchez). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Other survivors include his two sisters, Francisca Sanchez and Consuelo Sanchez. He was preceded in death by a son Armando Sanchez; and three brothers, Jose Sanchez, Rafael Sanchez, and Felimon Sanchez. He was also preceded in death by his parents Toribio Sanchez and Maria Guadalupe Rosales.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland. A mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, also at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will take place immediately following the mass at Monument Hill, Monument Hill Memorial Park, 35036 CR-22, Woodland.
