It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share that Jillian "Jill" (Brady) Ortiz, 38, of Clifton Heights, PA, passed away on November 17, 2019 in her home surrounded by family after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was born March 9, 1981 to Edward "Ed" John and Kathleen "Kathy" (Morgan) Brady in Philadelphia, PA. Jill graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in 1999. She continued her education at West Chester University, where she received a B.A. in Elementary Education and continued further to receive a Master's during her professional career as a 5th grade teacher with Delcroft School in the Southeast Delco School District. Simply put, Jill was a special person. She devoted her life to her family and her friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother. Jill's passion was teaching. She was born for it. She knew how important the role of a teacher can be in a child's life and she took it beyond the books and tests. She loved every student as her own child and relished the opportunity to offer a word of advice, a guiding hand, or just an ear to listen. Beyond all else, Jill was a dedicated mother. She used her special gift to raise her two beautiful boys in her likeness. She treasured her boys and embraced every moment with them. Jill loved to dance and loved even more that her boys love to dance. Impromptu living room dance parties were a regular occurrence in her household. Jill is survived by her husband, Juan Ramon Ortiz, Jr. They were married on October 27, 2012. They had two children, Nolan Ramon and Joel Edward Ortiz, ages 5 and 2 respectively. She is also survived by her parents, Ed and Kathy; her sister and brother-in-law, Kelly Anne and Dominic Sellecchia and their children; her Mommom, Patricia Brady; and much more family and many friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. Family, friends and all those whose lives Jill touched are invited to take part in a celebration of Jill's life on Saturday, November 23rd beginning at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Drive, Secane, PA 19018 where we will gather for an hour before Jill's 10:30 AM Funeral Mass. Immediately following Jill's mass we will head to Anthony's Ristorante and Banquet Center, 4990 State Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 for a luncheon and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, your contributions to the Jill & Juan Ortiz Foundation (Venmo @Jill-Juan-ortizfoundation1027 or PayPal @ [email protected] ) would be greatly appreciated by our family. To say God has gained another Angel is an understatement. Hearing this tragic sad news was heartbreaking and broke my heart. More so it's broke Chases heart into pieces. He couldn't stop crying cause all's he wanted was his teacher to come back. I'm so thankful I got. To meet you at the meet and greet in August and see you at Back to school night. I enjoyed communicating back and forth with you everyday about Chase and how he was doing and behaving. I can't thank you enough for all you have taught him whether it be how to handle his anger, his not to disrespect his elders, and letting me know what a great day Chase had. He adores you and enjoyed being in your class as your student. He loved your sense of humor and how you. Would make him laugh. You were a wonderful teacher to him and I appreciate that more than you'll ever know. I'm so sorry God took you way before your time as my thoughts and prayers are with you and your beautiful family. Those sweet little boys of yours. I hope you're at peace, no more pain, no more suffering.. I know that your memory will live on throughout your boys and throughout the school. Especially with Chase, because he hasn't stopped talking about you. He's dedicated a page for you on his Instagram page. Thank you for all you have taught my son and all you have done for him. You will be missed by many. May God bless your family during this sad heartbreaking time and may he give them the strength to get by each day. And let them know that where ever they go, you are right there with them, by their side. Rest Easy Mrs. Ortiz. Xoxo
