There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Nana and Val. Nana was a huge part of our lives and I find myself teaching my daughter many of the verses that Nana taught me. "You're as safe as in God's pocket" is one of my favourites. As I watch my own mother with her grandchildren, I realize the amount of patience and love that Nana regularly showed us. She is truly alive in the ones she helped to raise. What a wonderful woman!
My memories of Val are vivid and fond. I smile when I think about her spunk and her courage in life. She taught me that anything is possible and that I do not have to conform to what others view as appropriate behaviour for women. She was larger than life!
I think of them often and they continue to inspire me!

I think often of the great times that we had together and all that Nana and Auntie Val have taught me. Their presence in my life I consider a true gift. I Look forward to seeing them again, and meeting Jim who I have heard so much about.

Dear Aunt Barb and Family:
I just happened to pick up a citizen and caught your memorial to Jim, Jessie and Valerie. My sincere thoughts are with you all. I never met your father, yet I'm sure he was a wonderful man. I think about Jessie and Valerie often. We shared many good times. I know they are all together at peace in a great place.
lots of love

I am thinking especially today of Jessie, since this is the second anniversary of her death. Jessie has been in my mind a lot lately, and often her words of wisdom come to me, especially when I am struggling with something. How blessed we were to have Jessie in our lives! I was pretty young when Jim died...four, I think. So my memories of him are mostly feelings... of strength and gentleness. I have many stories about Jim from Jessie, and I treasure them along with my long and vivid memories of Jessie and the loving influence she was--and is! in my life. No one ever had a more wonderful Godmother!
