Jim Janway
Jimmy Derll Janway was born March 7th, 1948 in Page Oklahoma. He entered into the Presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 11th, 2021. He is survived by his wife Bobbie Jewel Janway, one daughter Kimberly Hadaway and husband Bart, one son Gordon Janway, six grandchildren, Andrea Sharp and husband Matthew, Ashlee Hitchcock and husband Mychael, Jared Hadaway and wife Amanda, Devon Smith, Michael Janway, and Brylee Janway, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister Bonnie Matthews, four brothers Albert Janway, Joe Janway, John Janway, and Chris Janway, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Roy Lee Janway, his parents Albert and Wilma Janway, two sisters Laverne Morrison and Melba Woodrea, and one brother David Janway. Jim was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church of Pocola OK. He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran as a member of 30 Brigade 101st Airborne Division. Jim received the Vietnam Service medal, the Army Commendation medal for exceptional meritorious achievement, a Bronze Star medal, and a Purple Heart. Jim's service to his country was a reflection of the life he lived. Everyone who knew him knew how generous and giving he was. He loved fishing and an occasional round of golf. But the passion of his heart was his family who absolutely adored him "Papo" kept everyone around him laughing, often uncontrollably, with his quick wit. Those who were privileged to call him friend were truly blessed. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday February 16, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church in Pocola, OK with Rev. Paul Walker and Pastor Bart Hadaway. Interment will be at Howe Cemetery in Howe, OK. under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith, AR. Pallbearers will be Jared Hadaway, Michael Janway, Mychael Hitchcock, Matthew Sharp, Bryson Sharp, Jeremiah Sharp, Aiden Parker and Joshua Faulkner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Chapman, Speedy Wilson, Bill Needham, Bud Whaley, Perry Babb. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday February 15, 2021 at the funeral home.
