Jimmie D. James, 57, of Rockford, IL. died unexpectedly in his home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. A kind and caring, husband, father and PaPa, our hearts are heavy . In a life well celebrated, Jimmie married Kim Eddington and together raised their families in a home filled with love. Jimmie enjoyed simple pleasures in life; relaxing on his front porch with a cup of coffee and a buffet for the birds, cruising on his Harley with wife, Kimber in tow or the pure joy of a Sunday afternoon ride in his restored 1985 Monte Carlo. The family made wonderful memories at the trailer on Lake Koshkonong. To his grandkids he was "super fan" the best cheerleader in the stands with his signature cow bell ringing affectionately. Jimmie made a career as a truck driver. Jimmie was born in Rockford, IL. on August 26, 1959 to Everett and Helen (Wilson) James. Survived by step-mom, Carolyn Baker; wife, Kimber James; children, Danny (Angela) James, Wendy (Bryan) Edmonds, Cassie (Dan Rees) Korntved, Lucas Korntved; grandchildren, Emily (Ian) Nance, Nate James, Dax James, Brayden Edmonds, Jackson Edmonds, Natalia Rees; great-grandchild, Aubree Nance; sisters, Carol Ann Crown, Sherry Kay Preslar, Jean (Matt) Di Guiseppi; brother, Tim (Sue) James; faithful canine companions, Boomer and Bubba. Predeceased by parents; infant son, Darin James; brother, Edward(Mary Jane) James; brother-in-law, Ronnie Crown.
Life well celebrated service: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State ST. Rockford, Il. Visitation: 4:00 – 6:00 on Monday, July 17 at Advantage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Condolences, www.advantagefunerals.com
