VANDALIA - Jimmie K. "Jim" Leapley, 65, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Crossroads Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Vandalia, following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 10, 1947, in Galion, Ohio, to James K. and Mary (Miller) Leapley.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Jim is survived by his father, James of Belleville; loving wife, Anna (Gates) Leapley; son, Steven and his wife Cindy Leapley of Huntington Beach, Calif.; sister; Sharon and her husband Don Davis of Pueblo, Colo.; mother in-law, Thelma Gates of Galion,; sister and brother in-law, Nadine (Jeff) Tomecko of Tennessee; brother and sister in-law, Raymond (Cindy) Gates of N.C.; six grandchildren, Chelsea Wells, Jordan, Micah, Daisey Lynne, Slater and Kai Leapley; along with several nieces and nephews.
Jim was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Benjamin Stoddert.
He was a member of the Tipp City Nazarene Church, National Model Railroader Association and owner of the Erie Railway Depot, Troy.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013,
at Tipp City Nazarene Church, with Pastor Brad Warkentine officiating.
Family will receive
friends from 11 a.m.
to to 1 p.m. Saturday
prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City.
