..another great song writer left this earth. I remember at 4ttt FM in Townsville Australia on New Years Eve 1992 or '93 I was given the overnight
slot and about midnight I played tracks from 'Off to see the Lizard'. So many people dialled in asking for more Jimmy Buffett songs I knew then that this man had a cult following eveywhere! Heaven will be richer for his being there.

I was a 14 year old in 1973 & was introduced to Why don´t we get drunk....i was cracking up. Next up was Juicy fruit. I was hooked! At the time I was loving Dan Hicks & his Hotlicks so you can understand my off the beaten track music love. Fast forward to 2023. Jimmy lifted me up during HS deaths of close friends, 2 divorces, death of my adult daughter and many life tragedies. He also brought much joy to my tropical travels, music to fish by & more fun I can describe at my many many concerts. He was my life´s song writer & mentor. I am still grieving & may until I sail away also. Much love from my Parrothead heart!

In my early 20s, after my mom died, I started joining some coworkers/friends at JB concerts for some truly mindless distraction. Some of my best life memories stem from those years. So much joy and silliness and costuming, ha-ha! That man could transport us all to another land where everyone amazingly got along, laughed and sang (loudly) together...One of my very favorite songs is "Death of an Unpopular Poet" - always tears me up. We were all blessed to share space with him for so long. Thank you, Jimmy B., for all of it; love you so much!!!

I remember when JB came to Key West with a cowboy hat, boots, and a guitar.
I had my cowboy boots on. we had a lot in common both of us from the dear old south and country music. He made Key West the #1 place to see when he wrote all those songs in the 70s and 80s. Jimmy lived 10 lives and is in Heaven now. I said a special Prayed and a Candle for him...... Fisherman Tex KW

Mrs. Buffett and family, please accept my sincerest sympathy at this time. As you know, the hole in your family right now is immeasurable. But, please know that your grief is being shared by soo many as well and we are sending our prayers and warm thoughts your way. Thank you for lending us your husband, father and friend for so many years.
I met you and your daughter as well as Mr. Buffett in palm beach back in the late 90s. I moved to West Palm from Tampa during that time for two reasons- it was closer to the keys and Jimmy Buffett lived there. I picked up an extra job parking cars on the island and you guys finally came into the restaurant one night. Jimmy was the only person that I Ever asked for an autograph out of the countless celebrities that we used to meet while parking millions of dollars worth of cars a night. He was nice enough to have signed a valet ticket I gave to him as he laughed..on this? I responded, that's all I have. I spent an additional few moments letting him know how us parrotheads enjoyed celebrating the lifestyle that he created.
May God allow you and your daughters comfort at this time until you meet Jimmy again..
God bless.

Jimmy, you taught us how to live life to the fullest each and every day. You taught us how to keep our faces toward the sun so the shadows would fall behind us. You taught us to have fun, smile and be happy. Your wonderful spirit, smile, laugh, style and music will live on in our hearts and souls forever. We will always be part of your flock. Parrotheads and parakeets forever. We will never for get you and all the great memories we´ve shared together through the years. Heaven certainly has gained a bright angelic light in you; one that will no doubt continue to shine rays of sunshine down from above. So, as we adjust to not seeing you face to face again; we will keep our fins up and our shaker of salt and margarita makers near and think of you often. RIP Jimmy. Thank you for everything! You are truly one of a kind. Thank you too for "Bubbles Up" and for reminding us about what´s important in life and saying goodbye. I am praying for your family. My brother introduced me to Jimmy right after I got out of the navy. Went to my first show with him and gave me a bunch of stuff to put on including a crab hat... I asked him if it would be weird if I wore all this stuff. He replied with " it would be weird if you didn´t "
And I never looked back. For 25 years I have followed Jimmy and thank him for the all the memories he left me including my trip to the Woodstock show with my dad.

I was about 17 when Dad insisted I listen closely to the hilarious story of The Bear when we were drinking beer & having a great time in his riverside flat. Dad gave me his cassette tape copy of You Had To Be There not long after he gave me his 3 harmonicas and I absolutely loved the harp solo. On the flipside was a tape of silence broken by crow caws & fly buzz where Dad musta forgotten step 2 :-D. I still have the tape, and a new CD copy.

I've been a fan of Jimmys since 1977 and even though I lived in the midwest most of my life I dreamt of living the life he sang about. I've lived in Florida for the last 25 years and am close to the beach and still living life through his songs and always will until my time here is done. Rest in Peace Jimmy, you're one of a kind and made life so much better for so many people. Fins Up!

Jimmy's songs could provoke deep contemplation or capture the lighthearted sights and sounds of paradise with just a few words. Every song painted a picture. Through it all are woven the themes of escapism, wanderlust and an unbridled curiosity that makes life a journey worth taking. There was no one like him and doubt if there will ever be another like him. He is truly missed but his music will live on forever.

In the early 90´s, I worked with a guy that was a true Parrothead! He loved Jimmy Buffet. He got me listening to the Margaritaville man and I was hooked. Life happened and I moved around the country always listening to Jimmy but never getting to see him play. Finally, I attended my first Jimmy Buffet concert in Boston, MA in 2018. I felt so blessed to be in the crowd and close enough to the stage to see him perform. It was one of the best nights of my life -I will never forget it. I listen to Radio Margaritaville all the time. Even when I am out of the house, I play Jimmy Buffet for my fur babies (they love him too)! I am so saddened by his passing but am certain Jimmy has now opened Margaritaville in Heaven and is playing to the numerous fans on the beaches of paradise. Jimmy´s trip around the sun may be over, but his journey in true paradise has just begun. Fins Up Jimmy! See you on the flip-flop side!

I loved Jimmy and his music so much. I always knew that. But it was so much more than just music, a lifestyle, a religion, it was (and will always be my religion.) I usually don´t ever make a fuss about celebrities, but there hasn´t been a day yet that I haven´t shed a tear thinking about a concert I attended, or one of his songs. I live in Chicago, year round. And anyone who lives here knows that the winters can be downright brutally cold. There´s nothing more I can´t stand than being cold and snow. But the first thing I do when I head out to plow the snow, is put his music on, and let my mind escape to somewhere tropical with a beach, ocean, margarita, (maybe a cheeseburger too if I´m hungry) & and the warm sunshine on my face. Always make the job a little easier. Even though you are not with us anymore, you will always be in our hearts. This is not goodbye, but, till we meet again. Until then, fins up, and sail on sailor. Long live the king...king of somewhere hot.

What do you say when the world turns upside down and you are shaken to the core? "Breathe in, Breathe Out, Move On." There is a quote from a song or an interview from JB that can soothe and reset your life. That seems to be the take away I have from my many years as a Parrothead. To the Buffett family, may you have peace and joy knowing he played the grandest Labor Day Weekend Show of his life Saturday. To the band, keep on strumming. Your contribution is not forgotten. To the millions of Parrotheads out there, keep the music loud, the blenders churning, and hand down the lifestyle and memories to as many as you can. I don't have the answers to what comes next, but for me, it will always have some iota of a Buffett memory or song line attached somewhere. And lastly to Jimmy, all I can say is thank you for allowing the world to share your heart, your joy, and your singular wisdom in how to live on this big old goofy world. Fair winds, following seas, and FINS UP!

The first time I saw Jimmy play was in Jones Beach during a steady downpour. He came back on stage by himself and played for us for another hour and half, saying "if you can be out in the rain, so can I". Our kids were raised as paraquets in the Denver Parrothead Club until they were old enough to become Parrot Heads. Our family has been to several JB concerts, and it was a part of our lives for as long as I can remember. My job had me train Jimmy's chief pilot and through that connection we were invited backstage at Fiddlers Green. The best concert I saw Jimmy play was in Aspen over Labor Day weekend, 2021. He told lots of stories about his time in Snowmass. The last concert I saw him play was the next night at Red Rocks. I was always saying the whole family needs to get together "one more time" for a JB show before he stops touring. I only wish he stopped touring to finally relax, fly his planes and sail around the world. This one really hurts. I lost my dad to cancer and even though you know the end is near, it's still unexpected when they take their last breath. Prayers for Jimmy's family, and thank you for sharing Jimmy with the world.

For Jimmy's family thank you all for sharing him with us. A friend of mine first introduced me to his music on a beach in north carolina, back in 70s. His music got me through some of the toughest times of my life. The love he had for his fans and music came thru in every concert and song he gave us. There will never be another one like him, he didn't just entertain, he connected with all those who came to listen to him. What a wonderful and talented man. He will be missed, he made it possible for us to forget our problems for awhile. We, his fans will miss him, but you his family have the problem of filling up the empty spot he has left in your family. He's making God smile now. Prayers with you.

Jimmy sang a song called " When The Coast Is Clear." Well, that song gave me a love for the ocean when no one was around and the beaches were pretty much vacant. It made me think, how much bigger My God, who created me, Jimmy, that ocean, that beach, and some way or another everything in existence, is sooo much bigger than all of us can ever conceive. Well Jimmy, many of your songs brought many of us out of slumps, if only temporarily some joy. Thank you for that, Godspeed brother, hope to someday listen to another Buffet concert on the other side.

Gosh I remember being a kid like 30 years ago and my parents and us singing and dancing his songs. I´ve been a lifelong fan of his. I´m heartbroken that he has passed and I know the world is a little less bright without him, but I do know that he´s in a better place jamming out & having a blast! May you rest in peace, Jimmy.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
My condolences to the family. Thank you for sharing your husband, father and brother with us. He truly was a man of many talents. I was and am a life long Jimmy Buffett fan. I bought my first Buffett album at 12 years old and have continued my collection though my adulthood. Also enjoyed seeing him multiple times in concert. I even took my daughter to see him for the first time at the young age of 4. I've been teaching my grandkids his songs. Jimmy's music will live on in my family, it is the soundtrack of my life. Jimmy Buffett will be greatly missed by all. Love you like one of my own. Rest in peace my friend.
