Jimmy Dale McCrillis

Jimmy Dale McCrillis passed away peacefully at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Wilmington, NC on January 19, 2023. He was a graduate of Newark High School, then served in the United States Army. He worked as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service until he retired at the age of 55. After retirement, he was an active member of the American Legion, volunteered for the Virginia Dept. of Forestry, and spent time enjoying the outdoors with his beloved dogs. Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, Isabel (Oakleaf) McCrillis, his father Newell McCrillis, and spouse Joy (Park) McCrillis. He leaves behind his three children- Lee Ellen McCrillis of Wilmington NC, Jimmy (Helen) McCrillis of Auckland, NZ, and Dana (Don) Rife of Sharon Center, OH, as well as eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, his brother Skip (Charlotte) McCrillis and sister Judy Omlor.
