Jimmy Smith Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 25, 2024.
Jimmy Lee Smith went to be with the Lord our Savior on October 17, 2024. Jimmy was born on May 19, 1951 to parents Charles and Lillian Smith. Jimmy had two siblings, Kenneth Lowe and Colleta Smith, who proceeded him in death. Jimmy graduated from Enid High School and was trained in auto painting and repair. He later spent 15 years working for McDonald Douglas as an aircraft painter.

Jimmy fathered Brian Marshall of Edmond, OK and Jennifer Castro of Tampa, FL in his first marriage. Crystal Downs from Collinsville, OK and Rachel DeRycke of Skiatook, OK in his second marriage. Ethan and Thomas Smith of Sapulpa, OK in his third marriage.

Jimmy was dedicated to the efforts of the American Red Cross where he donated 55 times, thus saving countless lives. Jimmy glowed with pride when he received a phone call reporting he saved a new born baby's life with his blood donation. Jimmy was baptized on April 19, 1981 at Yale Baptist Church in Tulsa. Jimmy was active in helping keep up with the church grounds, collections, and repainting of the church vans.

Jimmy's last days were at the Clarehouse in Tulsa and previously eight years with Southern Hills Nursing Home. We are grateful for the compassionate and loving care they gave our father especially in his hour of need.

Jimmy's ashes will be spread with his sister Colleta at the Sandia Mountains in New Mexico.
