Jimmy D. Vaughan

Amory—Jimmy Dale Vaughan, 67, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at his home after a sudden illness. He was born September 24, 1941 in Amory to the late Raymond and Gracie Mae Cook Vaughan. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, auctions, going to flea markets with his friend, Fray (Clay), spending time with his children and grandchildren, and going out to eat.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Clyde Mize officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.

Survivors include 3 sons, Raymond Keith Vaughan (Brandi) of Hamilton, James Stewart Ponds (Priscilla) of Nettleton, and Sam Vaughan (Shanna) of Ripley; one daughter, Camilla Vaughan Roberts of Tupelo; one brother, O’Connor Vaughan of Florida; one sister, Rennia Buse (Sonny) of Saltillo; and 7 grandchildren, Anthony Ponds (Kayla), Kayla Ponds, Houston Roberts (Jill), Dru Roberts, Alex and August Vaughan, and, Andy Vaughan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Vaughan and brother-in-law, Ronnie Strange.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Ponds, Dru Roberts, Dan Vaughan, Lewis Vaughan, Lowell Worthey, Tommie Smith, Samuel Vaughan, and Donnie Kingsley. Honorary pallbearers will be Houston Roberts, Andy Vaughan, Alex Vaughan, August Vaughan, Kayla Ponds, Fray Sanderson, and the Amory Café Coffee Club.

Visitation will continue until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
