Joan F. Baker, 72, of Bangor, PA, passed away Monday, May 21st, at Easton Hospital, Wilson Boro, PA. Born: April 11, 1940, in Northumberland, PA a daughter of the late Violet Gaugler and John Epler. Personal: She and her husband Rodney G. Baker, celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary last August. She was formerly employed as an x-ray technician at Pocono Orthopedics in East Stroudsburg, PA. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Rodney; Joan is survived by a sister, Dorothy Rice, of South Williamsport, PA; and two nephews Mark Rice of South Williamsport, PA and Todd Rice of San Diego, CA. Services: Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 314 S. First Street, Bangor, PA. Services and burial are private at the convenience of family. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Rodney, So sorry to hear about Joan's passing I didn't know she was ill. Joan & I worked many years together at Pocono orthopedics & pocono hospital. I know she went thru many bad times in her life but i know she was very happy with you.

so sorry to hear of Joanies' passing,.remembering all the fun and sometimes trying times working at pocono orthopedics together.we started together in 1977 and left the same day in 1988.Joan was a wonderful person to work with, for 11 yrs. we worked side by side and never once had an even slight disagreement. what a great friend,kind and considerate,just the best.i will truely miss her and also the many e-mails she shared over the years.so glad she had so many years of happiness with her devoted husband Rod and so many years of retirement to share with him.....my sincere sympathy to her family...jan stolz
