Kim, my deepest sympathy to you for your loss. Matt called Dean who passed the sad news to me. It was good to read David's obituary, what a tribute to his full life. The two of you had a lot in common with the theatre and all, and I could see first hand the joy between you when we met up about five years ago. One thing I can say for comfort, know that you will be reunited some day - that is a certainty. Until then, enjoy your memories and take time to grieve. Best regards, Marjie (Miller) Adams

My Mom's "Calkins" family is just the greatest family anyone could hope to be related to. All fine and thoughtful people, full of intelligence and talent and love. I adored Mom's Brothers and Sisters (my Aunts and Uncles) and the spouses they all chose were just as wonderful and became looked up to and loved by me from childhood on. David is one of my most colorful first cousins and I was very surprised and so saddened to hear of his passing. I am a songwriter/poetry composer, and wrote a poem entitled Call Kins... a play on the surname Calkins. It is a sentimental poem for all the Calkins Family precipitated by David's passing because what was I waiting for to write it. I will forward a copy of it to Alan. May the love that faith embodies comfort my Houston Cousins during this time of mourning at David's Passing. Love, Jack
