Joan A. Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD _ Joan A. April 24,1936 to March 22, 2006 Joan was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 24, 1936 where she lived until 1957 when she moved to Surrey, B.C. Joan passed away peacefully on March 22, 2006 at Langley Gardens Care Home where she had resided for the last three years. Joan is survived by Gordon, her loving husband of 47 years, daughter Kathie, son-in-law Blake, and her grandchildren Vanessa and Troy, who were her greatest joy. Joan will be sadly missed by her brother Glenn (Lena) Platts, and sister-in-law Jean Fitzgerald, along with her five nieces and two nephews. Joan will be lovingly remembered by so many, including the "C.N.R. Hen Party Crew", the Belton family, her best friend Lib, and her Langley Gardens "family" who took such good care of her. Joan worked at Woodwards, Guildford Town Centre, in the General Office for 23 years where she made many friends who still have fond memories of the wonderful stories and poems she would write. Joan "danced" her way through life, enjoying curling, playing baseball, embroidering, bingo, and baking. She treasured her time spent with her family, friends, and her precious grandchildren. Joan was the "life of any party", she had a wonderful sense of humour and lived life to the fullest. Thank you to all those who have supported the family during these last few years. There will be no funeral service, but for those who would like to remember Joan and celebrate happy memories, please join the family on Sunday April 9th, 2006 between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at 7752 - 164A Street, Surrey.
