I remember Joan fondly as a fellow classmate in a lithography class the summer of (approximately) 1976. She took me under her wing and made sure I completed our self-directed assignments, as I was new to studio art classes. She also kindly invited me and my husband to spend time at her parents lakeshore cabin. Although we did not keep close touch, her kindness and generosity will not be forgotten. I also recall her love of butterflies, and a special need to incorporate them into her art work. My condolences to all. She was a beautiful woman.

There's a group of us back in Minnesota that remembers Joan from Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was in confirmation with us as well as hi-league. We have many fond memories of "Blasts" at St. Olaf college and the lutefisk/lefse lock-ins. We will pass the word to our peers of Joan's passing and will miss her. Our condolences to the family at this time of sorrow.
