Joan Lindsay Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 15, 2012.
Friend, lover and soul mate to her husband of 37 years, Bob Lindsay. Mom to Darrick Chase (Georgi), Dave Lindsay (Sara Jansson) and Charisse Stindt (Paul). Grandma Joan to David Jr. and Arianna Lindsay and Jack and Sammy Chase. Proud graduate of the class of 1952 of Poly High in San Francisco, with BA degree at San Francisco State, followed by a teaching credential. Enjoyed teaching business subjects in San Francisco Unified, Barstow Union, and Los Angeles School Districts. Lived in Southern California for ten years while ex-husband Hugh Chase worked for Jet Propulsion Labatories (JPL). Traveled to London, Paris, Rome, Kenya, South Africa and Rio. Said adios in 1968 to L.A. and went back home to Northern California and "God's Country." Was Secretary and bowled for 37 years in the Marin Commuters League at Nave Lanes and then Country Club Bowl. Enjoyed building their business Linlite of California with Bob, and then retiring early to enjoy their life together. Loved her garden and growing orchids. Bob and Joan loved to travel and were avid fans of the S.F. Giants and 49ers. They traveled extensively with the booster clubs of both teams, going to New York, Montreal, Houston, Atlanta, Cooperstown, Chicago and Spring Training twice with the Giants. San Francisco 49er venues included New Orleans, Pontiac Michigan for Super Bowl XVI, Berlin, Spain, New York, Miani, Tampa Bay (and Disney World) and Canton, Ohio to See Joe Montana & Ronnie Lott inducted into the Football Hall of Fame. Other travels included Tahiti, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Panama Canal, Cancun, Ixtapa, Alaska, China and sailing on the QEII to England, then returning home on the Concord SST. Much love to Dave Sr. and Sara for putting up with me and taking great care of me. They really stepped up to the plate and did a wonderful job.

Dear Mrs. Chase, tomorrow will be one year since Darrick died. I pray that you both are resting in peace and that Darrick has found salvation.
