I am so sorry to hear about Joannie. I worked with her and Loretta at the Houston Fire Department for the six years she was there. Joannie was such a good friend and co-worker. She always had new jokes to tell. May God be with your family at this time is my prayer.

I am sorry to hear about Joanie, I remember her clearly. My name is Robert Castaneda, a firefighter that worked with her and her sister Loretta about 23 years ago while they worked at the downtown fire station. When I heard of her passing I remember most the time I had gone to their home in the 1960 area where she, Joanie, talked me into giving me a hair cut. I have often wondered of her and Loretta, they are and were both wonderful people. Last I heard of them they had both left employment with the fire department. Again I am sorry to hear of your loss.

I work with Joan at the Houston Fire Department for the 6 years that she worked. Joan was a very kind and loving person. She displayed much positive admiration to me and co-workers. She always had a smile and never let nothing bother her. She always talked about the "Philly" steak po-boys. I will truly miss her and keep the family in my prayers.
