Joan T. (Crandal) Parnin, 80, with the help of Parkview Hospice, she peacefully passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 at her home of 48 years, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and a volunteer for St. Mary's Soup Kitchen. Mom enjoyed the simple things in life and was always thinking of her family. Survivors include her sons, Michael Parnin, Kenneth (Dawn) Parnin both of Fort Wayne; daughters, Kathleen Parnin of Fort Wayne, Karen (Jerry) Gibson of Kentucky, Diann (Ed) Stahl of Churubusco; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, James Crandal in Fort Wayne; sister, Ursula Redding of Huntington. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Parnin; brothers, Winfred, Ira, William & Joseph Crandal and sisters, Mary Reed & Rita Keiler. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church, E. State at Randallia with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. with Vigil at 4:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to St. Jude Catholic Church, St. Mary's Soup Kitchen or Aging and in Home Services of Northeastern Indiana, 2927 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, 46805.
