Joan Virginia (Flaherty) Roster, 91 of Taunton passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Morton Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Edward A. Roster. Born in Boston; Joan was the daughter of the late Hebert and Mary (Boudreau) Flaherty. A graduate of Chamberlin Business School, she was an executive secretary for Massachusetts Power and Electric Company in Boston. After marriage and moving to Taunton, she was the secretary to the President of Morton Hospital. She was a founding member of the Taunton Art Association. Joan was the Treasurer for the Morton Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed working in the gift shop for many years as well as volunteering in Medical Records. She was a well known local artist. Joan loved teaching oil painting, traveling with her grandchildren and golfing with her friends in her leisure time. In addition to her husband Ed, Joan is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Storm of Raynham, her son; Brian Roster and his wife Emily of Manchester, New Hampshire; her grandchildren; Jillian Roster, Heather Storm, Melissa Storm and Kimberley Storm, and her nephew; James Osborne of Lawndale, California. All services are being held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the PKD Foundation, PO Box 871847, Kansas, MO 64187 or at [email protected].

Joan was one of my favorite customers at Shaw´s in Raynham. She came in to buy a single red rose almost every week. I enjoyed talking with her. She was classy and full of positivity.

My condolences to Joan's family and friends. I was on the golf league with Joan at Parker for a couple of years and she was a smart, talented, sweet woman who I am honored to say was my friend. God bless and rest in peace.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. She was my first oil painting teacher and she was my mothers as well. I SO enjoyed my classes with her and will always remember the fun classes. She was so sweet and kind and patient. I will always remember her.....I'm so sorry for your loss.
