DUGGAN George Duggan, 82, attorney in Newark George Duggan, 82, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Old Bridge. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River, with a 9 a.m. Mass to follow at St. Mary of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in South River. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Calling hours at the funeral home will be on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., Mr. Duggan lived in Rumson before moving to Old Bridge three years ago. He was a graduate of Fordham University and St. Johns Law School in Manhattan and a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Duggan was a senior partner in the law firm of Parsonette, Parsonette and Duggan and subsequently formed his own practice as George Duggan Esq. in Newark for 50 years. Mr. Duggan was predeceased by his wife, Joan Sluboski Duggan. Surviving are his daughter, Sherri Smart and her husband, Brian, of Old Bridge; his son, Dennis of Atlantic Highlands; his grandson, Kevin Smart of Old Bridge and his brother, Gerald of Indiatlantic, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Georges name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123-1718, www.cancer.org.

Hey Uncle George,
I'm writing to let you know that you are missed very much. I'm sorry i didn't make it up to see you. Everything happened so fast. But they say everything happens for a reason. I want you to say hi to my daddy for me and tell him i love him, take care of eachother. I love you... and to my family you are all in my prayers we will make it through this difficult time together as always..
