I am so sorry to learn of Joan's passing. I worked with Joan for many years. As a direct result of her efforts to protect and defend our budget allocations, the scientists, engineers, and researchers at Natick relieved funding to accomplish many of the remarkable advances that we had over the years. She was calm and understated in her dedication to the varied R&D efforts. She developed a deep understanding of both Natick and Army/DoD leadership needs and fully applied herself to doing her best which was instrumental in helping Natick to retain and increase preeminence in all the Soldier system RDTE areas. She will be fondly remembered by so many. My heartfelt thoughts to all of her family and friends.

To Joan's family. I just learned of her death and I was very saddened by the news. Joan and I worked together for many years and I counted her my friend. My deepest condolences and apologies for not responding earlier. She was a true professional and a very caring person. I am sorry for your loss.

Very sad to learn of Joan's passing. I remember her from working on housing issues in Cambridge in the 1970's and 80's. She was uncommonly bright, patient and quietly determined. My sincere condolences to her family.
