Joan Frances Yebba (Walsh), fondly known as Joannie, passed away on July 16, 2024, in Gardner, Massachusetts, at the age of 65.

Joan was born in Fitchburg, MA on July 25, 1958 the daughter of Stephen and Stella (Doiron) Walsh. She had resided in Gardner, MA since 1998 and formerly lived in Fitchburg.

Joan spent many years serving the communities of Fitchburg, Lunenburg, and Westminster as a waitress and bartender at local favorites such as Kappy's, Mickey's, and the VFW. She later joined Advance Coatings Company, where she worked for a number of years, bringing joy and dedication to her roles.

A true sports enthusiast, Joan's passion for the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics was unmatched. She enjoyed playing card games and was an avid gardener, known for her impressive collection of giraffe figurines and love of Larry Bird. Joan's deep love for her dog Rico was evident to all who knew her, as he was a constant source of happiness in her life.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Megan Yebba (Jason Martel); stepsons, Nick Yebba, Joe Yebba (Gibson Yebba), and James Yebba (Jezzabelle Yebba); step-grandchildren, Amelia, Donovan, Hannah, and Parker; siblings, Barbara Desmond, Phillip Walsh, Lawrence Walsh, and Brian Walsh (Sue Walsh); and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Yebba; parents, Stephen and Stella Walsh (Doiron); and brothers, Stephen and Ronald Walsh.

A service to honor Joan's life will be held on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, at 2 PM at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, located at 111 Glenallen St, Winchendon, MA. Friends and family are welcome to attend. A celebration of life will directly follow the service at her daughter Megan's house in Winchendon, MA, where details will be provided at the time of the service.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Hanover Hospice for their compassionate care.

Joan's legacy of warmth, kindness, and spirited love for life will be deeply missed and forever celebrated by all who knew her.

Megan, so sorry to hear the loss of your Mom. I remember in the summer when Joannie lived across the street from us I could hear singing in her kitchen! I loved hearing her. It always made me smile. I am planning on going to the service on the 2nd. Our prayers are with you.
