Port Orchard - JoAnn DeMoss (née LeFave), age 86, passed away on July 7, 2025, in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Born on January 4, 1939, in Tacoma, Washington, JoAnn grew up in Port Orchard. WA. and graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1957. Shortly after graduation, she pursued her passion for hair and beauty by attending beauty school to become a licensed beautician.

In 1957, JoAnn met the love of her life, Charles DeMoss Jr., and they were married in 1958. Together they built a life in Seattle and predominately Renton where JoAnn dedicated herself to raising their family as a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. Her devotion to her family was unwavering and formed the foundation of her life.

In the mid-1980s, JoAnn returned to school at Renton Technical College and earned her certification as a pharmacy technician. Immediately after completion, she went on to be a pharmacy tech at A&H Drugs in Renton, where she remained until her retirement.

After retiring, JoAnn embraced a new chapter filled with travel alongside Charles. The couple explored extensively together, creating cherished memories across this country and other countries; their favorite form of travel was taking cruises. Their shared love for sports was another defining aspect of their life together-they were devoted fans of the Seattle SuperSonics and held season tickets from the early 1970s until the team's final season in 2007. They continued their support of local basketball as longtime season ticket holders for the Seattle Storm.

JoAnn is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 67 years, Charles DeMoss Jr., of Port Orchard, WA; sister Loretta Evans of Duncanville, TX; son Randy DeMoss and daughter-in-law Trina DeMoss of Prosser, WA; daughter Danielle DeMoss of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren RaeAnn Benham, Emily Benham, Anthony DeMoss, Derek DeMoss, Tonya Parker, and Charles Donnelly; great-grandchildren Aidden DeMoss, Lillian DeMoss, and Jaxon DeMoss; as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Lastly her beloved poodle, Beaux.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Delphine LeFave; and brothers Kenneth LeFave, Lloyd LeFave, and Dale LeFave.

JoAnn's legacy is one of love for family, commitment to lifelong learning and service, joyful exploration through travel, and spirited support for her favorite teams.
