It still seems impossible that Joanna is gone. She was a beloved friend and so much fun. She dealt with her illness with grace and dignity. I miss her so much. Thinking of you, Michael Bradley.

I´m almost a year late.. but, she was the best aunt ever! Though I only met her once, she was an awesome woman. And I´m sad to have heard so late about her passing. I hope her and Buck are living peacefully together up there in the sky

Joanna taught me that seeing the world differently is superpower and that we become heroes by working on ourselves to become beacons of change in the world. She will forever have an impact on my life!

I was so sad to learn of Joanna's passing. She wore many hats at Morgan, but I knew her as a transfer student coordinator for the College of Liberal Arts. She was always the same person no matter what or when. She was funny, yet direct, and never afraid to say what everyone else was thinking! I listened to all the wonderful sentiments from everyone at her memorial service. Everyone said the same thing in their own way. To me, this was indicative of Joanna's way of consistency and treating everyone with kindness and respect. She is truly, truly missed.

I had the pleasure and privilege of knowing and working with Joanna as a member of the College of Liberal Arts. Joanna was an advocate for students, faculty, and a force to be reckoned with! I appreciated her enthusiasm, candor, wit, and collegiality. I am personally indebted to her for volunteering to support the Psychology Department with advising when she was not asked or "voluntold" to do so. She simply saw the need and told me that she would be happy to help and she did. The last time she advised for us was during the Spring 2023 semester and her last email to me was a "heart". She will indeed be missed.

Dr. Crosby was warm, fun and funny. She was also deeply passionate about the success of the students she taught and advised. She did not hesitate to let me know when she felt we needed to improve a process or resolve a particular matter for a student. I will miss her terribly.

I am so sad to hear of Joanna´s passing-she was indeed a bright light in this world. She seemed to move through life with so much confidence and gusto-an excellent example of living on one´s own terms. I will never forget her. Much love to her family in this impossible time-my heart aches.

I'm so saddened to learn about Joanna's passing. What a wonderful presence she was at so many of our Foucault Circle meetings. She brought passion, courage, and feminist swagger to every conversation. And she fought so fiercely against injustice. The world is a better place because of her. She will be so deeply missed.

I am broken hearted to learn that Joanna has left us, she was such a gem of a human being. We worked together at Morgan for many years. She is one of the first people I became friends with. She was so open and present, she could make you feel seen and validated. I admired her approach to teaching, her dedication and authentic connection to her students and her subject matter. Joanna once audited one of my classes, a ceramics class, she was so creative and interested in so much. I will miss her and am so happy to have the memories I do.

I remember Joanna sitting next to me at a Guild meeting when I was first new to the Guild and she had her spinning wheel going and stopped and asked me if I wanted to try it. She was instructive, patient and pleasant as she helped me gain a first knowledge of spinning fiber and resultantly, I did ok with that first attempt. So thanks, Joanna, I wish you a peaceful presence wherever you are.

I cherish our last visit in early April directly after Joanna´s birthday and shortly before mine. She was a very dear former student and close friend. I miss her. May her memory be blessed. Z´L

She was an amazing teacher and mentor to me during my studies at Morgan, and in 2012 I had the privilege of traveling to China as apart of one of her yearly educational tours. It´s one of my fondest memories of Dr. Crosby, and it and she will remain in my heart.

Dr. Crosby was a great colleague in the College of Liberal Arts (CLA). I enjoyed working alongside Joanna during my second junior faculty year as a transfer coordinator for the CLA. Without missing a beat, she offered to mentor me and prepared me for my tenure journey despite belonging to a different department.
Thank you, Dr. Crosby, for your dedication and commitment to service and the greater Morgan community. I am grateful to have known you. You will be missed.

I will always remember Joanna. She was one the first people on Northway drive to introduce herself to me and my daughter Brittany. She always smiled and was so enthusiastic about the improvements I made at 3100 northway.
I´ll never forget the time we spent attending an Andrea Bocelli concert at my company´s suite. She absolutely loved hearing him sing. It was a majestic evening.
It was people like Joanna that made moving away so hard. I wish I could be there, but I just had spine surgery and I cannot travel.
My heart aches for the loss of this beautiful soul who touched so many. She was truly light in a world filled with darkness. May she rest in eternal peace.
Michael, may God bless you and all of Joanna´s family and close friends. May he draw you closer and give you strength and comfort during this difficult time.
Margaret

I never thought our friendship would last so long when attended the Confucius Summer Camp in Nishan, Shandong in the summer of 2011.
During the next decade, we hanged out together in Beijing, Baltimore, Shanghai, Wuzhen and Wuhan, we met together almost every year before the Pandemic. And She said will come to Wuhan to see us again with Michael next year.
We had so many beautiful memories: silly chicken dances in the field of villages, A lot of tourist walk in hot summer, lined up at popular restaurants for hours, debated on eastern and western cultures, philosophy and politics. She gave me a lot of inspirations and supports. Joanna taught me to smile big, laugh loudly, hug tightly and speak out the love. I just hope to give her one more tight hug. I'll miss her, my dearest friend.
