Joanne Stolp, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Plano, Texas. She was 90 years old. She was born on December 26, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Einar Mantyla and Elizabeth (Johnson) Mantyla, Joanne was raised in Lake Norden, South Dakota. She graduated from high school there before marrying the love of her life, Orvis Dell Stolp, on September 12, 1953, in Hayti, South Dakota. Their love was a testament to the joy and strength they carried throughout their 71 years of marriage. Professionally, Joanne's career was marked by her commitment to public service. She served for nearly 15 years with the U.S. Department of Energy, where her expertise and work ethic made a lasting impact. She continued her service with the U.S. State Department, contributing for several years before her retirement. Joanne's dedication to her work was an inspiration to those around her, and she proudly served her country with integrity and grace. A talented singer, Joanne was a cherished 50-year member of Sweet Adelines International, where her passion for singing brought joy to many. She touched the lives of countless individuals through her involvement in the organization, and her artistry will be remembered fondly by her fellow members. Joanne was known for her kindness, generosity, and the love she gave to her family. She was a woman of strong faith, deeply dedicated to her loved ones and her community. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and devotion to her family and country. She is survived by her husband Orvis Dell Stolp; daughter, Lorene Louise Winders and husband, James; daughter, Lindy Diane Keating and husband, Bruce; son, Timothy Dale Stolp and wife, Caryn; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Einar and Elizabeth Mantyla; and her son, Terry Dell Stolp.
