Jody Robbin Obituary
Jody S. (Handell) Robbin, 56 years of age, of South Windsor, CT, passed away on Tuesday, October 18th, 2016. Born in Worcester, MA, Jody was a beloved daughter of Morin (Bud) and Estelle Handell of Warren, RI; devoted wife of Bruce C. Robbin; caring and wonderful mother of Tammy and Emily Robbin; and loving sister of Lezli Pious and her husband Jamie, and Daryll Handell. She also leaves her mother-in-law, Merna Robbin, sister-in-law Carol Laufer and her husband Frank and her many nieces and nephews. Jody graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. In 1985 she married the love of her life, Bruce Robbin. She achieved her life dream of welcoming two children into the world, Tammy and Emily, teaching them values of caring, commitment, and love. While being a full-time wife and mother, she helped her husband grow his business as an administrative assistant. Jody was a devoted and selfless friend and family member, always putting others before herself. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, October 20th, 2016 in the Sanctuary of Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, CT with Rabbi Ilana Garber officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St. Ext., Avon, CT. The family will receive guests at their home, 88 Cliffwood Drive, South Windsor, CT immediately after the interment, as well as Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM and Saturday from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT. My childhood bestie, you were one of the original "Fiercesome foursome",
We had a childhood that was made of so many fond memories and secrets which I will keep in my heart forever. I was shocked and sad when I learned you passed away, I thought how could my Jody Stacy Handell be gone?
It goes without saying you were a great wife, mother, daughter and sister. But in the friend department...you were loyal, supportive and caring...did I mention fun- oh yes lots of fun...
But I want you to know the biggest gift you´ve given me since your passing, reflection. Yes Jody, I have reshaped my life because of you! You were the same age as my dad when he passed and I have come to realize there is only so much time on this earth and we don´t know when we leave.
I have made life changing decisions because of you and for that I owe you my deepest gratitude.
I think about you more days in a year than not- and sometime I even talk to you. I love you sister and know we will meet again.

Although it has been three years ago, since you physically left us, there is not a day that i don't think of you, especially on Monday's when we would have our annual call. I always looked forward to them.

I grew up with Jody and will always remember her as a sweet, kind and happy girl. Our 40th Durfee high school reunion is this year. I'm sad to see Jody's name among the class mates who've passed away too young and too soon. May she rest in peace.
