Joe Chagolla Sr.

Joe Manuel Chagolla Sr., a devout Catholic, passed away on February 22, 2025, in San Marcos, Texas, at the age of 76.

Born on October 2, 1948, to Guadalupe DeLeon Barazza in La Mesa, Texas, Joe was a man of many talents and a dedicated professional. He pursued his education at Gary Job Corps and later earned a degree from Texas A&M University. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he also served in law enforcement and worked long-term in security at Gary Job Corps in San Marcos, Texas. Skilled in various trades, including karate, carpentry, electrical work, and landscaping, Joe was known for his versatility and dedication.

Joe is survived by his children: Senida De Leon Vela(mother of his children); Joe Manuel Chagolla Jr., Jo Ann Chagolla De Leon, John Gabriel Chagolla, and Maximillano Chagolla De Leon. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Vanessa A. Chagolla Guerrero, Sabrina Chagolla, Caesar N. Garcia, Aiyanna E. Miranda, JoVan A. Miranda, Tristan R. Chagolla, Katrina Chagolla, and Austin Chagolla; as well as five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. His siblings Jose and Brenda Ramos, Ray and Juana DeLeon, Joaquin and Regina Barazza, Antonia Barazza, and Rudy Guerrero also survive him.

He is reunited in eternal life with his mother, Guadalupe D. Barazza, and siblings Esmeralda, Yadi, Perfecta "Pieta," and Sondra B. Guerrero. Joe found great comfort in scripture and the promises of eternal life.
