Joe Bob Fain, 74 of Amarillo died Friday March 18, 2011. Joe was born on June 20, 1936 in Turkey, TX. He married the love of his life, Lois on May 2, 1967 in Amarillo, TX. Joe served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954-1957. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after twenty-five years, and has been a member of Top of Texas for thirty-seven years. Close friends and family knew Joe for his unique wooden creations including motorcycles, benches and mailbox covers. His great love for the Lord, his family and all he encountered will never be forgotten. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the kindness, caring and compassion shown by Odyssey Hospice and Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Home. Military Honors will be given by DAV Chapter 26.
Survivors include his wife Lois Fain, five Daughters;Dianne Hancock, Sherry Skidmore, Valorie Riggs, Serena Payne and Kathina Allen 12 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren Several nieces, one nephew and his best friend Rascal.

My deepest sympathy to you. I'm so sorry I didn't know of Joe's passing. He was a great friend to my Dad "Doc" I lost Mom last month so I feel your loss. May God be with you always

So sorry to hear about Joe Bob, have been with a computer and do not take newspaper. He was a great guy and a wonderful neighbor. Wish I could come to the services but have to take Karan to the doctor at 2:00 Know you will miss him, I still miss JC My love to all of you
