Joe Franklin "Frankie Joe" Matherly, 67, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009, in his residence. He was born Jan. 29, 1942, in Terre Haute, to Joe Buck Matherly and Loretta Holland Matherly. Survivors include three sons, Frank Matherly and his wife Beverly of Clinton, Bob Matherly and Bill Matherly, both of Terre Haute; a brother, Ron Matherly and his wife Linda of Terre Haute; and two grandchildren, Bonnie Coffey and her husband, Nathan of Terre Haute, and Dude Matherly of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his companion, Alice Letner. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Monday at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Chris Wilbur officiating. Cremation has been scheduled to take place after all services. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Monday.
