Joe Nathan Bryant, Jr. was born to the union of Joe Nathan and Lillian Whitfield Bryant, as the second of four children. As a child, Joe was inquisitive, intelligent, and confessed to Christ as member of Corinth Baptist Church of Ensley where he sang in the choir as a teen.
After numerous affiliations and achievements at Western Olin High School, Joe began an enriching career encompassing military service (USMC and USCG), graduate of UAB, social work, commission as a Alabama State Policeman and law enforcement (Jefferson County Sheriff).
He married Olivia Bimbo and to this union, three children were born: Jonetta (Ricardo) Cameron, Byron Bryant, and Carlton Bryant.
Joe gained numerous commendations and meritorious awards during both his military and law enforcement careers. He enjoyed reading, music, and had a penchant for nice cars and clothes.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nettie W. Pettus; his parents Joe Nathan and Lillian Bryant; wife Olivia Bryant; and sister Willa Dean Bryant Harris. Joe leaves to cherish his memory: three children; two grandchildren: Jayanna and Jordana Cameron; a brother Clyde Bernard (Joyce) Bryant; a sister Yvonne (Robert) Flowers; two loving aunts: Edna Joyce (William) Agee and Lucille (John) Bryant Marshall; nieces and nephews Mia, Marlon, Marcus (Crystal) Harris, Terence and Tashia Bryant, and Keshia Flowers; Whitfield cousins- Nettie Ruth, Bobbie, Darryl, Orlando; Watley cousins- Tina, Alex, and Eric and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Greater Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 300 - 4th Avenue West, Dr. James Gibson, Pastor, with burial Monday, June 21, 2021 at 10:15 A.M. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama. Smith & Gaston Southside directing

My deepest sympathy to Joe's family and friends, I just found out about Joe's death and my heart mourned from his passing, Joe was a very special and unique person to me, we had a very special relationship that will forever be in my heart! May the Spirit of the Lord go before you and make your way easy into heaven, Joe will forever be on my mind and in my heart, rest easy love, you have gained your wings o f Glory!!!

I worked with Joe years ago, and he was so much fun. I loved the fact that he took so much pride in his appearance, so clean and so very well dressed. Haven't seen him in years but his memory lives on. My condolences to his family and friends. I'm sorry.
