Bill and I met Joe and Judy Pritchett shortly after we moved to East Texas over forty years ago. Judy has been gone for many years, and we still miss her. Now it´s hard to imagine the community of Edom without Joe. He was as good a listener as he was a storyteller. I suppose part of that came from all his years in the cosmetology industry. When Joe would cut Bill´s hair, the talk would turn to hunting, fishing, and canoeing. With me, it would be talk about the kids, writing, and weaving. And he would entertain both of us with tales of his trips to Mexico. Bill and I joked about how we should start limiting his stories about Mexico when he cut our hair so that he wouldn´t get distracted and cut off too much. But even if we did sometimes have hair a bit shorter than we intended, it was all worth it.

Rest in peace dear friend finally united with the love of his life, wife Judy. I've known you since 1983 when my husband Jim and I and son Chad moved to the lake. Judy was a dear friend, lost too early. Son Aaron is like a second son to me and best friend to Chad growing up together. You will be missed by so many, love to all the family and see you at the memorial! Barbara Perry

Joe was a good and talented man with a sharp wit and even sharper tongue. He walked in a creative breeze every day of his life. Big love.
