Joe Lee Pritchett Jr.

Joe Lee Pritchett Jr. passed away on July 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and joy within the Edom Art community, where he was widely regarded as one of Edom's finest. As a skilled cosmetologist, he shared his expertise at Richard and Joseph's Artistic School of Hair Design in Tyler. For many years, he successfully owned and operated Cloud 9 Hair Design in Tyler and East of Edom Haircare in Edom, TX spreading beauty and inspiration throughout the community. A multifaceted artist, poet, and philosopher, Joe Lee Pritchett Jr. left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lee Pritchett and Laureen Suto, stepmother Mannone Pritchett, first wife Pat Pritchett, and the love of his life, Judith Guyton Pritchett. He is survived by his sister, Glinda Raulston, as well as his children, Holly Dawn Smith and her husband Michael of Callender Lake, and Aaron Lee Pritchett and his wife Brandy of Cameron, Louisiana. Joe Lee Pritchett Jr. was also blessed with six grandchildren: Sterling Smith, Zoë Woods and her wife Stephnie, Chilton Smith, Nathanial Pritchett, Aiden Pritchett, and Lee Hill and his wife Mackenzie, as well as two great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at Edom Log Cabin in Edom, TX, on September 27, 2025, from 11am until 4pm, with stories shared throughout the day and a formal service commencing at 1pm.
