MIFFLINBURG - Joel Roger Heimbach, 30, of 474 Gast Road, a lifetime resident of West Buffalo Township, Union County, entered into rest Sunday, May 30, 2004, in Lewis Township, Union County, as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Route 192. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:35 a.m.
He was born Feb. 5, 1974, in Kelly Township, a son of George Roger and Sally Ann Renninger Heimbach of 474 Gast Road, Mifflinburg.
Joel was a graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, Class of 1992, and a 1992 graduate of the SUN Area Career & Technology Center of New Berlin, where he took electrical studies.
Since shortly after his high school graduation, he had been employed by Playworld Systems Inc., Lewisburg, and at the time of his death was a welder with the firm.
Joel was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed trapping.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two children, Katie May Heimbach, 7, and Joshua William Heimbach, 4, both of Mifflinburg; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Mae Keister Renninger of Mifflinburg; four siblings and their spouses, Sherrie L. Treas of Lewisburg, George R. Heimbach Jr. and his wife Heidi J. of Millmont, Julia A. Przywara and her husband Alan R. of Lewisburg and Thomas A. Heimbach and his wife Lawanda J. of Mifflinburg; numerous cousins; nieces; and nephews.
Friends and family may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the James L. Schwartz Home for Funerals, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg; however, the family may not be present. Friends may also call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the funeral will follow at 11 with the Rev. Ned L. Knisely, pastor of Hillside Bible Church, Mifflinburg, officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Church Cemetery, West Buffalo Township, Union County.

I am so sorry to hear about Joel. I was just home a couple weekends ago and got to spend some time with him. This is just hard to believe. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
