Joel Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 11, 2016.
Joel “Adam” Scott, 43, passed away early Saturday morning at the Omaha VA medical Center, June 11, 2016. Adam is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jami Dawn Scott; son, Johnathan Alexander Scott; son, Jared Allen Scott; daughter, Jordan Abigail Scott; daughter, Sedona Skye Mather; daughter, Sierra Dawn Scott; father Jerry (Diane) Scott and mother Joyce (Richard) Durrant; brother, Michael (Lori) Renehan; sister, Sally (Curt) Whalen, sister, Tamera (Alex) Ortega. He also left behind 18 nieces and nephews and a large extended group of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas (Mary Jane) Renehan; and his brother Gerald Paul Renehan. Adam was born on April 18, 1973 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Later he relocated with his family to the Kansas City, Missouri area and attended Oak Park High School in Gladstone where he graduated in 1991. He joined the Navy in February 1992 where he made a career first as a submarine sonar operator and ended it as a Navy recruiter nearly 10 years later after earning multiple promotions and commendations. After leaving the Navy Adam excelled in management and completed his Bachelor’s in Business Administration at the University of Phoenix. Adam will be remembered best for his quick wit and sense of humor, his contagious optimism, his passion for music, his love for his family and especially the drive that he applied to anything he set his mind to. Special thanks to Omaha Nebraska VA Medical Center and especially the wonderful nurses and also the Omaha LDS Relief Society. Their love and support gave Adam’s family strength during this difficult journey. Adam was very much loved by all of his family and friends and we will miss him each and every day. Memorial Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

This just came up on Sedona's tablet baby. I still don't want to believe this has happened to you. My heart is breaking and I just hope you are at peace baby. I miss you so much. I hope I have honored all your wishes as best as I could. I tacked your dolphins lightly into the top of the flag holder. Your flag is on the fireplace mantle. Trees have been planted. Just come wrap your arms around me and the kiddos from time to time. We had a deal...alas...it had go away too since it was not the way God saw things fit to happen. My heart is breaking baby. I miss you so very much. I love you more then I can express. 'You are my end and my beginning'. Now where do I start my forever handsome husband? You won the fight though baby. You ultimately had the final say on the cancer. I heard your message. It will forever be in my heart.
