Tulare

Joey Vieira of Tulare died April 30, 2015, after a short battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 8th at 10am at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Tulare. The viewing and rosary will be held at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home. The viewing will be on Thursday, May 7th from 4pm-8pm and rosary will be held at 6:30pm.

Joey was born January 5, 1953 in Hanford, California, to Frank and Madalyn Vieira. Joey was a graduate of Tulare Western High School. After high school, he devoted his life to agriculture, and teaching his children the importance of hard work ethic. Joey was devoted to booming hay and driving hay squeeze the majority of his adult life.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren, working with his hands, building go-karts, tinkering with equipment, watching football, and dove hunting. He also loved participating in the destruction derby at the Tulare Fair grounds. He was very proud of his "Most Aggressive" award.

Mr. Vieira was preceded in death by his father, Frank Vieira, mother, Madalyn Vieira, and brother Frank Vieira.

Joey is survived by his daughter Marissa and her husband Juan de Santiago; his son Josh Vieira and his wife Christy; his son Johnathan Vieira and his wife Haley; his sisters, Ethel Martin, Mary Nunes, and Alice Silveira; and six grandchildren, Macie, Annalieen, Blair, Isabella, Jett, and Crew.

Donations can be made to the St. Rita's Catholic Church building fund.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North "H" Street, Tulare, Ca. 93274

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015, 6:30 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 South "O" Street, Tulare, Ca. with burial at Tulare District Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.

I have alot of memories of Joey, the infectious smile and laugh he had, would automatically make you smile or laugh right along with him. My heart is heavy for you all,I can say he was a true friend to me and my family.RIP Joe Bob you will never be forgotten.

So sorry about your loss, my heart goes out to his kids and sisters. I will always remember all the good times that we had from playing cards, working on floats, getting destruction derby cars ready, flying planes, and racing our dads tractors up and down Pleasant. You were a wonderful neighbor and friend and the kindest person I knew. So glad I got to see you a month ago and give a big hug. Good bye friend until we see again.
