Johanna Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 17, 2007.
Johanna Windham Johnson, 41, died peacefully in her sleep early Wednesday morning, June 13, 2007, at her home in east Fort Worth.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.

Johanna Windham Johnson was born July 4, 1965, in North Hollywood, Calif., where she lived until she moved to Fort Worth in 1983. She graduated from Texas Christian University in 1996 with a bachelor of science with a specialty in nursing.

She was a wonderful and loving daughter, a caring mother and a compassionate and understanding woman.

She loved her family with all she had and cherished every moment with all of them.

A constant in both her children's lives, you could always find her doing something for not only them but their friends as well. She was like a second mother to countless children. Johanna had a warm heart and a laugh that would light up a room. You always knew when she was around. Whenever something was needed, she was always the first in line to ask, "What can I do to help?"

Johanna was active in so many lives and she never stopped running. She lived life the way she wanted, by taking care of her family. She was a woman who loved God and felt His love in return. She smiles down on us from God's loving arms up above. We love you and we miss you.

Johanna was preceded in death by her father and hero, Thomas Ray Windham, former chief of police for the city of Fort Worth.

Survivors: Mother, Maria Klein Windham; her husband, Jimmy Wayne Johnson Jr.; her son, Michael Ryan Eurton; her daughter, Katarina Gabrielle Francesca Johnson; and half sister, Kathleen Dower.

To the family of Johanna Windham Johnson:

Words can't express the sorrow I feel over the death of Johanna. We started out as friends and ended up being sisters and confidants. We loved to go shopping at Big Lots, the swimming parties for her birthday, and just hang around and talk. Every time we said bye on the phone we always said "I love you and I'll talk to you later". My sister Aggie and I continue to love you all deeply. My Kaelina loved her and called her "Aunt Hanna". Now Aggie and I are dealing with the death of our mother as of 8-6. Life is full of surprises, but we must go on not because of it, but inspite of it. Eventhough it is hard to cope, they would want us to carry on. They will always be in our hearts. It is very hard to deal with because we are the flesh and they are the spirit guiding our every move with our Lord's help. I love you all dearly. There is Faith, Hope and Love; but the greatest of these is Love.

Mike, Katie and Family,

Sterling and I were so saddened to hear about the loss of your sweet and caring mother, Johanna. Sterling often told me of how caring and understanding she was and that she was such a wonderful mother to her kids. She helped Sterling through some hard times and always had open arms for him and others. Our family will miss her greatly, and I hope you know we are here for you and will help in any way. Remember she is with you always and her life lives on in yours. She was proud of her children. SHe loved you dearly. For the short time I got to know her, you knew right off, her family meant eveything to her. Sterling and I were blessed to have known Johanna.
Your friends

Maria, Wayne, and kids -- I am so terribly sorry for your loss, for all our loss with Johanna's death. I had not seen her very much in many years, but I will never forget the first time I met her in California. I think she was 3 years old? She called me "Merry Sherry", changing my name to something that made me laugh and feel good. I have told people that story many times over the years. My heart is with you always.

Mom, you were greatly loved, cherished, honored, respecte, loved, and joyed by all of us here that miss you. I don't think any child could have a mother that would be so giving, generous, and as amazing as you were. There are no words to describe the feeling i felt at 2:15 June 13, 2007. I was scared, nervous, but in some way I was happy. By that I mean I was happy that you were finally in Heaven. I remember you telling me how much pain and suffering you were in, and now your not. Now you can be happy without worrying what people think. If I could spend my last days with you over again..I'd do it in a heartbeat..but the last days that I really DID have with you..i will cherish in my heart forever..Mom i want you to know..that even though i am sad..and even though I may be asking questions..i will always know how much you loved me.

Today at the funeral someone said.."When you have a garden, and you have to choose a flower, you will go and choose the most radiant and beautiful one. Same with God's garden" That is what God did, he needed a flower...So he chose you. The most radiant, beautiful, flower in God's garden..

You truly are a radiant, beautiful, shining, happy, amazing, and generous person.

I love you..
And you will be missed.

Rest In Peace
-Katie-(Schnokie Moch :])

There are no words that can express the sorrow felt by all those whose lives she touch.
I feel blessed to have many memories of us as children growing up laughing and loving.
As adults I both loved and admired her. She will live forever in my heart. So I won't say good-bye just see ya later.

Very few people can affect the lives of those around them so significantly and remain anonymous. The activities and conversations I was honored to share with her have changed my life. I never realized how much until I reminisced about the times I had with her and her family. Mrs. Johanna treated me as if I was an equal. She was never condescending or belittling. In discussions she would ask my opinion and listen to my responses. Despite her superior knowledge and experience she gave me the chance to learn and grow. In return she taught me more than I realized. She influenced my outlook on life, work and family. My library has the reference books that she gave me and I still use them in both work and school. Mrs. Johanna has left a silent part of herself in every one she touched.
