Johanna Longo Obituary
Mass is on Monday in Montclair for former Newark teacher, 103
Johanna M. Longo, 103, passed away on Feb. 6, 2019. She was the wife of the late Louis A. and mother of Karl and Louis Paul.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Dr. William, Dr. Harry, Como and Andrew Digiacomo, and her sisters, Frances Saldutti, Carmel Villanova and Jody Chervenak.
Funeral is from the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, N.J., on Monday at 9 a.m.; then to the Saint Theresa of Calcutta Parish, Church of the Immaculate Conception, 30 North Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, where at 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Entombment is in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J.
Johanna was a teacher at Barringer High School in Newark, N.J., for over 20 years. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society at Immaculate Conception Church, the Montclair YMCA and the Cosmopolitan Club of Montclair.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint Theresa of Calcutta Parish, 1 Munn St., Montclair, N.J. 07042.

I am so sorry to be missing Aunt Johanna's funeral today. I am so very glad I got to see her this summer, still in her own home. I have so many fond memories of family gatherings there. Aunt Johanna and Uncle Lou were the glue that kept the second generation in contact. It is the end of an era. May she keep dancing and swimming forever in the great beyond. Sincere condolences, love, and respect to her sons for taking such good care of her.

I am sorry to read of Johanna's death - I remember her as a very faithful and loyal parishioner of Immaculate Conception. I regret that, due to being in Arizona for the week, I am unable to attend her Wake or funeral. I will remember her at Mass.
