Adams, John Charles of Edina, MN died on August 13, 2023, at age 91, after a brief illness.

Born November 20, 1931, and raised in East Chicago, IN, John was one of the two children of Eber and Gertrude Adams. He was part of the lighting division of General Electric from 1956 - 1994. He married Joan Reed in 1961 and they enjoyed 59 wonderful years together, full of family and travel. After moving to Edina in 1975, John was an active member of Braemar Men's Club, Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, and the Resident's Council at Brookdale Edina. He would often be found on the course at Braemar or following Purdue or Edina basketball. He was known for his bright smile, wide variety of interests, quick sense of humor, and innate kindness. He is preceded in death by wife Joan (Reed) Adams, and survived by their three children Amy Adams of Pleasant Hill, CA; Bob Adams (Katie) of Mound, MN; Sue Adams (John Crosson) of Walnut Creek, CA; beloved grandchildren Hannah Ross, Emily Ross, Tommy Adams and Jake Adams; sister Doris Boldt of Munster, IN and many nieces and nephews who loved and admired their Uncle John and Aunt Jo immensely. John was a close friend and golfing partner for many years. He was a "charter member" of the Geezers who had many happy breakfast meetings together at Denny's.
John was a happy, gracious friend. I will miss him dearly.

I never had the privilege of meeting and knowing John Adams but I have the very good fortune knowing his two daughters Sue and Amy.
They are truly extraordinary human beings. Obviously inheriting some these wonderful qualities from their mother and father.
It is those qualities that will live on for decades through his family, friends, colleagues and anyone that had the privilege of being in his company.
With Condolences,

Any, Bob, and Sue and family,
I think of your father (and mother) often and am so very grateful to have had such a kind, generous, and caring uncle. They were both wonderful role models. My deepest sympathies and love to you all.

I didn't know John, but I know one of his most impressive accomplishments: His daughter Sue. His kindness, charm, and intelligence live on in her. That's a pretty wonderful legacy.

John was the kindest man I ever met. I was very blessed to have him in my life for a short time and will never forget him. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. I loved his sense of humor and his great laugh! RIP
Love, Jean-Ann Cox.
