Dolton L. Springer

Dolton Lloyd Springer passed away Oct. 6, 2010, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born Feb. 15, 1932.
Mr. Springer was retired from Reynolds Alloys. Mr. Springer was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lee Springer and Lillian Johnson; siblings, Opal Ward and James Springer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Katheryn Lemay Springer; daughters, Linda Pettus and husband, Larry, Judy Cox and husband, Calvin, Barbara Nix and husband, Philip; and son, Jimmy Springer and wife, Carla, all of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Wayne Pettus and wife, Lori Ann, Lori Walker Pettus and husband, Shane, Sherri Cox Roberson, Corey Cox and wife, Jennifer, Scott Nix and wife, Kristi, Daniel Nix and wife, Amber, Jimmy Lee Springer, Anna Springer and Alyssa Springer; 12 great-grandchildren, Briley and Macey Walker, Lani Pettus, Hunter Roberson, Samuel, Breanna and Leevi Cox, Brandon, Sarah, Ryan, Jordan and John Paul Nix; honorary grandchildren, Miranda and Jacob Shadrick; honorary great-grandchild, John Tollie Shadrick; sister, Sue Baldwin, of Elephant Butte, N.M.

Visitation was Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Loretto Memorial Chapel, with James Lemay and David Lemay officiating. Burial to follow in Pettus Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
