John Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 15, 2011.
John Patrick Anderson/John Patrick Anderson passed away on Dec. 13, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. Pat was born Nov. 23, 1966, in San Marcos, Texas, to Bob and Jean Anderson. He spent his first years in Wimberley, Texas. He attended K â€" 8th grades in Duncanville, Texas, and graduated from Nacogdoches High School in Nacogdoches, Texas, in 1985. On August 22, 1986, he married his childhood sweetheart Debra Michelle Manning. They had two sons Robert Chase and Jonathan Tyler and 25 wonderful years together. Pat was an active member of The Journey Bible Fellowship in Leander, Texas. He was a small group leader and loved his church. He was a member of the Solid Rock Emmaus Community in Blanco County. Patrick worked in the telecom business for many years. He worked for MCI in Dallas and Broadwing and Level Three in Austin. He was promoted to vice president at Level Three and moved to Broomfield, Colorado, where he spent his spare time touring and rock climbing in his jeep. Even though he returned to Leander and started a Farmers Insurance Agency, he always planned to take Debbie and return to Colorado to live. Patrick enriched the lives of everyone he encountered. Those who knew him were often changed, as he lived his faith and cared about everyone he met. The world is a better place because he was here. Pat will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered for his great sense of humor. Pat is survived by his wife Debbie and two sons Chase and Tyler Anderson of Leander, Texas. He also leaves behind his parents Bob and Jean Anderson of Johnson City, Texas; brother Tracy and his wife Kim of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandmothers, Ara Rule of Johnson City, Texas and Cora Anderson of Panama City Beach, Florida and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, R.N. Rule and J.M. Anderson, and his uncle R.N. Rule, Jr. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Victory Baptist Church, Cedar Park, Texas. The graveside ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery, Johnson City, Texas. God Bless everyone for the prayers, support and love you have provided for the Anderson family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Journey Bible Fellowship, 700 County Road 179, Leander, Texas 78641, to be distributed to needy families in Central Texas.
