John C. "Jack" Casson, Jr.
SPRINGFIELD - John C. "Jack" Casson, Jr., 54, of Springfield, IL, died at 10:50 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 at St. John's Hospice, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was born on September 23, 1956 in Jacksonville, IL.
Memorial Gathering: 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Memorial Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Reverend Peter Harman officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or St. John's Hospice.

How can it possibly be 8 years since we lost our sweet Jack? I still have his picture at my desk and think of him all of the time. He was my birthday buddy and a dear friend, and I miss him around Hanson.

Jack was one of our dear Hanson family members who "always" greeted you with a smile, no matter how he was feeling. He fought his long battle with cancer so courageously, and taught us all the lesson of living every day to the fullest and with a smile. There will be a great void here at our office with him gone, as there aren't many people as special as Jack. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Denise, and his family whom he loved very much. It was quite an honor to call Jack my friend. He is at peace now and in a wonderful place -- we know that for sure.
