John Russell Bayless, aged 70, passed away on July 10, 2024, in Donald, Oregon of complications from cancer. Born on December 25, 1953, in Loma Linda, California, John lived a life marked by kindness, a deep care for others, and a passion for technology and games.

John Bayless graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1972 and furthered his education at Evergreen College in Olympia, Washington, Central Washington University in Ellensburg, and the University of Akron in Ohio. His professional life was dedicated to the hospitality and technology sectors. He served as a Night Auditor at Holiday Inn in Ellensburg, then spent 25 years in Seattle working in camera sales and Photo ID systems. Later, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he spent 15 years in Badging ID Printers and Security Camera Systems before retiring in 2016 in Donald, Oregon.

A man of diverse interests, John enjoyed photography, reading science fiction and fantasy, as well as works by Clavell and Clancy. He was a fan of 60's guitar rock, and his hobbies included camping, deer hunting, and target shooting. John was also a fervent admirer of computer games, movies, and concerts, along with fine brews and grilled meats sharing these passions with a wide circle of friends and family.

John is survived by his wife, Suzie Bishop Bayless of Donald, OR; his niece, Meagan K. Bayless and her children, Aiden and Kayleen, of Ft. Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his father, B. Stephen Bayless; his mother, Reva D. Bayless; and his brother, Stephen Paul Bayless.

A memorial get-together to celebrate John's life is planned for late September. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, as he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, friendship, and a life richly lived.
