I thought of John the other day and found this obituary online. I was not aware that John had passed and I apologize that this is so belated. I had the pleasure of working with John (and his family) on several project and I have the utmost respect for him (and them). He was knowedgeable, hard working and funny. He really was one of a kind. Always able to find humor in a situation whether the joke was on him or on you. I will miss him. My deepest condolences to the Benkart family.

You will be greatly missed, you old bucket of bolts!! Nicest, smartest, most generous man you would ever meet. Everyone knew and loved him. Just won't be the same without you at the office, but you'll be there in spirit with Johnny and my mom and Teeko (Mac)
RIP. John Sr
Have a cold one (strohs) with my Gram ;) she'll need one by now

John was a great man who had a kind heart even though he was hard as nails. He built a very respectable business with hard work and dedication . John had a good name with all in the construction industry and the business community. Everyone respected John and no one ever had a bad thing to say about John. He was everyone's Dad. He loved his family and hoped that his children would carry on the family business. John was also a very simple man who did not indulge himself and instead lived a very simple , honorable life. All John knew was his work and that was enough to keep John happy. His expertise in his business was well known. To know John was to love him. God bless you , John. You will be missed.
