John Brackett Obituary
Mr. John Emory Brackett age 65 of Brackett Way Blairsville passed away on Wednesday August 22, 2018 at his home from injuries received in a farming accident. Mr. Brackett was born on April 30, 1953 in Young Harris, GA., the son of Lorraine Hunter Brackett and the late Ralph Coleman Brackett. He was a lifelong resident of Union County. Emory enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and working outdoors. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle and was a friend to many. Mr. Brackett attended Choestoe and Old Liberty Baptist Churches.
Surviving Mr. Brackett are his mother, Lorraine Brackett of Blairsville, two sisters, Sarah Imogene Brackett of Blairsville and Barbara Payne of Blairsville, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family request that donations may be made to the Gideon’s for Bibles in memory of Mr. Brackett.

I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. My deepest heartfelt condolences to your family. Emory was such a hard worker and people person with a big Heart. He was taken to Heaven much too soon! I ran into him once in a while in town,& we'd always catch up. I do think of Yall,Lorraine,Immogene,Ralph,Loy,& Idele often. I have good memories of Johnny &Ralph in the field talking and how Roy would kneel dwn on one knee to roll his P.A.& ofcourse experiencing the process and Best Sorghum Syrup Union Co ever had. ❤

Emory was a regular at Booger Hollow where I work. He was always such a sight and always had a way to make me laugh. I admired his love and dedication of caring for his mom. I will sure miss his company and saving pizza for him! There was no finer a man!

Emory was a great man. so many wonderful stories about him. he sure could dance. once gave a young lady he was courting a dozen dozen roses 144!!!! Such a romantic and so good to his mother. He was generous and helpful we loved him and will miss him.

My deepest sympathy to the Brackett Family during this difficult time. When I went to Blairsville to school in the the eighth grade,I still remember Emory. I was always impressed that his penny loafers had a spit shine. Later years while farming I did some business with Emory and always enjoyed seeing him. I am sorry for your Loss.
