Joseph (Mickelson) Mitchell July 31, 2021 Joseph (Mickelson) Mitchell, age 86, of Syracuse, passed away July 31, 2021 in Van Nuys, California at Courtyard Plaza. Joe was born in Syracuse to the late Harold and Eva Mickelson in 1935. Joe enjoyed success as a psychic adviser in the upstate New York area, at fairs, and in Canada. He was a witty, quirky, sharp guy who had a knack for chess. Joe spent much of his life in Syracuse with his wife of 35 years, Joann Morabito Mitchell who passed August 15, 2020. Joann was everything to Joe and he adored her. They were best friends, and they shared so much love and joy together. They will now spend eternity reunited. Joe and Joann moved to sunny Clearwater, Florida after retirement where they truly enjoyed their life. They were living there until Joann's passing last year, and then Joe moved out to California to spend his remaining time with his loving sons and grandchildren. Joe is survived by his two sons, Eliot (Janet) and Barry; his grandchildren, Matty and Emmie; and his two sisters, Rosalind and Phyllis. Burial in Assumption Cemetery in Syracuse will be private.
