I don't even know where to begin. I started working for Jack 10 years ago. He taught me so much about business and life. Over the years we developed a great friendship. I could talk to him about anything. He taught me how to play gin and blackjack and we went to the casino often. He would let me drive his car and tell the valet drivers that I was his chauffer. He never realized how many lives he touched and it is great to read all of these memories. R.I.P. Old Man. until we meet again.

Sure will miss Elbow Jack. My husband used to service Jack's Imperials at Standard Auto until they closed. He always brought his car in on Saturdays.
We started going to the Elbow Room shortly after it opened and still go there today. Our daughter and her family go there also. No matter what we order we always get a pizza with pepperoni. They are the best around and have the best pepperoni on them. We always loved the breadsticks. His Mom and sister made the red devil's food ice cream cake and it was delicious. A lot of times they were sold out of it because it was a very popular dessert. My husband always ordered the same thing--his 2 favorites-pepperoni pizza and a Western Melt. I loved the breaded pork chops and garlic sticks.
The Elbow Room was a great place to eat.

RIP Jack. Always a pleasure to be in your place. Kathy and I used to come in every Wednesday. Our anniversary is the same as yours. Hope the girls can carry on. Ken Wojcik

The Elbow Room will never be quite the same without Jack walking through and chatting up the customers. He was a great guy and the Elbow Room is an awesome hometown hangout that hopefully will continue to be.

RIP Elbow Jack. My children grew up on the famous pizza and your breaded pork chops dinner. My husband used to get these when I was working the evening shift. He would treat the kids and they just really looked forward to dinner on those evenings and loved the food. You will be missed by so many:( Memory eternal.

I Love The Elbow Room! It was our stop after Tuesday night Choir Rehearsal for St. Martin de Porres Parish. Great food...Great people...Great Jack! On September 1, 2001, my sister was in a serious car accident. While she was hospitalized and at home recovering, I'd bring her Elbow Room pizza and Juanita, Chris, or Jack would write a message on the box to cheer her up. December 26th was the first day she could go out of the house and where did she want to go? The Elbow Room. I packed her wheelchair and off we went. Everybody there was so glad to see her. We had pizza, snack plate, chef salad...anything she wanted and, of course, many drinks. When the bill came (nearly $100.00), Jack came over and said that it was on him. It was his welcome back gift to my sister. That's the kind of man Jack was. Rest in Peace Elbow Jack! You are loved and will be sorely missed!

Jack was an icon in Tenth Ward...he was a savvy business man and a generous friend. As young guys in the late 60's we all anticipated him buying a new high end car every other year. On a Friday night we looked forward to sitting down to eat one of the Elbow Room's famous square pizzas, sliced "bite size." Rest in Peace "Elbow Jack."
