I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. John's passing. He was always so full of jokes and positivity and cared so much during the many years I had the great honour of being one of his patients. He was so gentle and caring with my son as well. He will be greatly missed. I would like to express my sincerest condolences to his family and everyone at the office. He was a great, kind and caring man. He made going to the dentist a pleasant experience always.
Sincerely, Paula

I was Dr. Burgess' patient for five years since we moved to South Surrey and I loved his corny jokes and caring manner - not to mention his excellent skills. My sincere condolences to his family - may you find strength in each other and in God.

I was saddened and shocked to hear of Dr. B.s passing. I was honoured to have him as a dentist for close to 21 years. I will miss his passion for dentistry and his sense of humour -- usually corny! He was the reason y I kept on going to the dentist. Rest in peace. And my prayers got out to your family.

Dear Lynn,

I was so very sad and surprised to read of John's death. I remember him and your family so fondly. I was just looking at a picture of your family standing around the baptismal font at Fleetwood United Church and I had two little twins in my arms.
I know John was dearly loved and was an inspiration to many. He is in God's home forever.
My love and prayers to all of you.

I always enjoyed being a guest in Dr. Burgess' chair since I was a young boy, and equally enjoyed when I had the opportunity to serve he and his colleagues of Semihamoo Dental at White Spot during lunch. You will be greatly missed, my friend. My thoughts and prayers go to Lynn and the family.

I was saddened and shocked to hear of Dr. B.s passing. I was honoured to have him as a dentist for close to 30 years. I will miss his passion for dentistry (and life) and his sense of humour -- usually corny! He liked that my friend and I nicknamed him Dr. Bombay (from Bewitch). We told him Burgess was too boring! Rest in peace, Dr. Bombay!

Our deepest condolences to the Burgess family.
Doctor Burgess was a remarkable person and dentist.
I came to know Doctor Burgess when in need of long overdue dental care many years ago. He came highly recommended by a friend who was his patient and Doctor Burgess became our family dentist. Unlike most dreaded dental appointments that we all have to endure, a visit to the dentist was like visiting an old friend except one could not engage in the lively conversation as he had his hands in your mouth.
He was always cheerful, he was always funny and he always had a story to tell. Doctor Burgess truly enjoyed his job, his coworkers and his patients.
He spoke openly about his gratitude at being given a second chance to do what he loved most which was being a dentist.
After moving away to Victoria, Doctor Burgess remained my dentist although he did mention that I should find a dentist locally as he was not taking a ferry to look in my mouth. I instead took the ferry.
He will be missed immensely as no one could ever fill his shoes but I know my daughter and I will always have a smile in our heart when we think of him.
Rest in peace Doctor Burgess.

Dr. Burgess was a great man and an extraordinary dentist. I've been goi g to him since I was born in 1984 and I'm 31 years old now. He's been there thru all my mouth traumas over the years and given me many lectures and stories over the years that I will never forget. He's been a big part of our entire family even my two boys 5 and 2 go to him. My oldest son is very saddened by his passing as Dr. B created an everlasting bond with myself and my son. He will always be remembered in all of our hearts. Our prayers go out to all his family and friends.
