John Burton II Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 15, 2019.
John Hamilton "J.H." Burton II, 43,
December 2, 1975 - May 29, 2019

J.H. passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at NCH Baker Hospital Downtown in Naples, Florida surrounded by his father and family. A native Floridian, he was born in Miami's Mt. Sinai Hospital on December 2, 1975, to Ronald and Margarethe Burton.

Mr. Burton's passing was unexpected, and was due to complications from his injuries while in the hospital recovering from a heart attack and stroke.

One of four children, J.H. grew up in Marco Island and attended Leyly High School, later residing in Naples after college. His background was in commercial and residential real estate. In his youth, following in the footsteps of his father, Ronald Burton and mother Margarethe Burton and namesake grandfather, he worked in the landscape nursery industry. His grandfather founded J. H. Burton and Sons Nursery and Garden Center in Olney and Hyattsville, Maryland in 1929. J.H. was an energetic and friendly person who loved to connect people. His entrepreneurial spirit created a positive impact on all of those around him, his family, his co-workers and, his lifelong friends. J.H. had a big heart and his "I love you's" were as often as "thank you's".

J.H. studied Agricultural Economics at the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business and then returned to Naples 21 years ago, starting the first valet service, Premier Valet Services, in downtown Naples. He then embarked on a real estate career in the Naples and Marco Island areas. In 2001 he partnered with a full-service international real estate firm. His strong negotiation skills combined with his vast network of U.S. and International contacts led him to become a multimillion dollar producer, servicing the real estate needs of many international and national clients. The organization became one of the most respected full-service real estate firms in the area with over half a billion dollars in real estate sales. J.H. was a Broker Associate with Premiere Plus Realty in Naples and was BPOR Certified.

Since 2017, J.H. was a Manager and Owner at Naples Prime Financial, LLC., an international financial investment and consulting firm, and its subsidiary, Naples Prime S.A.S C.I. Additional ventures include AmDev International, and World Design and Manufacturing Group. These opportunities took him to various countries to include China, Panama, and Colombia.

His accomplishments include serving on the NABOR (Naples Area Board of Realtors) Professional Standards Committee. J.H. proudly served as a member of the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee, having joined the nine-member citizen's advisory committee as the Agriculture and Business Interest member. Mr. Burton served on the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee from 2012 to 2016 as a member of the Lands Evaluation and Management and Outreach Subcommittees.

Survivors include his mother and father, Ronald Burton and Margarethe Burton; his three sisters, Dr. Jeannine Cullum, Sabrina Ricks (Alan Ricks), Margarethe Burton-Archer (Andrew Cuevas); one nephew, Antonio Simoglou, two nieces Skylar Archer, Tiffany Savarese-Santos and extended family in FL, VA, CA, TN, and MD.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to The Conservancy of Southwest Florida, at conservancy.org.

A service with the family will be held at a future date.

I cant believe he is gone, I am shocked at his passing and wish his entire family peace and comfort during this very difficult time. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. So hard to put words together. I will always remember you. You were so kind. I have such fond childhood memories of our friendship. We grew apart as many of us Marco kids did but had recently reconnected over the last 5 years. You and April were there for me when I was going through a difficult time in my life. We had a great time out in your boat. I will never forget you. Your smile is infectious. ❤

John was one of the nicest men that I Knew. He would go out of his way to help me even climbing on top of my new rv to put a cover over it. He got down and said wow that was scary and still had his huge beautiful smile. He was a man of great passion and he always said I love you as others say like thank you. I am so saddened that such a great guy like this is gone way to early. I send prayers to the family as I know how it feels I lost a daughter at 26 and not a day goes by that I do not grieve. Rest my friend and one day we will meet again.
