David Cadenhead, 84, of Swan Point Md, died March 28, 2023. David graduated from Hattiesburg High in 1957 then Mississippi State in 1961. David shot his best round of golf at the Mississippi State Golf Course in Starkville. The MSU golf coach called David into his office and asked him to be on the golf team. David chose to focus on his studies as he would miss the labs required for his chemical engineering. David was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Epsilon and resided in the fraternity house. After college, David moved to Washington DC and worked at the US Naval Propellant Plant in
Indian Head, MD. David met his beautiful wife Carolyn, who had recently moved to Arlington VA from Ogallala Nebraska to work for the Navy Dept. on Constitution Ave. They were married at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogalla on 2-8-64. David retired from Naval Air System Command after 23 years of service. David then went to work for Aerospace Ordnance Technology until the company was acquired in 2006 by SAIC. David and Carol raised their family in Clinton Md where they were active in the Clinton Boys & Girls Club, den leader with the Boys Scouts and Robin Dale Country Club where he was a Club Champion. The family attended St Johns, Evangel Assembly, National Church of God, Harvest Christian & the Upper Room Fellowship. David first gave his heart to the Lord when he was about 9 and was baptized at Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. So he would say that he was a Cathobapticostalleyan, not many of those around. David and Carol moved to Swan Point in 2001 where they attended the New Life Wesleyan Church which accounts for the leyan letters of his denomination. David served as a Sunday School teacher, small group leader & Deacon while in Clinton then started a bible study with New Life in their home for 10 years. David made his talents known at the Swan Point Golf Club immediately by becoming the 2002 Super Senior Club Champion. He continued playing on the Swan Point Senior Men's Golf team. David was a man after God's own heart. After retirement from his work as a Rocket Scientist/Aerospace field, Dave enjoyed his family, grandkids, the stock market, acoustic guitar (finger style) and considered his greatest work with the Global Media Outreach as an online missionary. David's son Mike was in a car accident in 1983. He learned to view God's goodness from a Kingdom perspective in that, whatever draws you closer to your Savior is good. Romans 8:28 teaches 1. God works 2. God works for the good 3. God works for the good of those that love him 4. God works in all things 5. Rest in his grace-even when it hurts. David was the son of Thomas and Mavis Cadenhead of Hattiesburg MS. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Betty Jo (Betsy) Sims of
Pensacola, Florida. David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Cadenhead, his sons Mike & Larry, Larry's wife Michelle & grandsons Luke & Josh. Friends will be received on April 15 at 11:11 at New Life Dome Building, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata MD 20646. Memorials in lieu of flowers are asked to be sent to
globalmediaoutreach.com.
