I am 20 years late to this. I was the kid/guy that drove John around to the Murray Company and to lots of various meetings around LA, in his later years. My time w John was not as long as most of yours, and i wanted to put out to the universe and to his family that John was an AMAZING AMAZING man (you all already know this). And I never spoke out loud how much he meant to me. Betty, if you ever see this - please know how much love i had for John and you in my heart.

Hope is the thing...
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

John has a big heart and was always willing to help another in need. My uncle always spoke well of him. We will miss him and his sense of humor.

I met John 11 years ago. I was always impressed by his knowledge about different cultures and customs because he traveled a lot and met people from different countries. He was my Buddy and I miss him so much. I miss having dinner with him at Noshi Sushi (his favorite restaurant.)

I've worked for John at Murray Company for 15 years. I'll never forget the "gentle" way he questioned the massive amount of invoices he checked every month. He taught me more about the construction business than anyone I've met in the 30 yrs I've done this. He was smart, funny, and could he ever tell a story. I'll always remember him, and the love he showed for his family, and how he always asked me about Sherri.
