John K. Chandler
1952-2022
John Kenneth Chandler was born on August 31, 1952, in Raytown, Missouri. He attended Raytown Christian Church and participated in their many programs, among which was scouting, where he obtained Eagle Scout. After high school, John received one of two Senatorial accommodations to Anapolis Academy for officer's training. He received an Honorable Discharge at the end of the Viet Nam war. John returned to the University of Missouri at Columbia to complete his degree in Developmental Mathematics. Upon graduation, John was hired at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline to begin his career in the natural gas industry. In 1977 John met and married his wife Margaret. They were relocated to Liberal, Kansas where John was the Director of Operations of the Liberal Division.
John moved his family to Houston, Texas where he left Panhandle to form PSC Energy Services. In the next years, John and his small company would travel the US and Europe as his company grew. In 1996 his company had grown enough for Duke Energy to purchase John's company. John went on to complete his dreams by developing of Chandler Properties and Real Estate Management in southwest Missouri. Where he and his family built 250 condominiums. The real estate crisis moved John and his family back to Houston where John resumed his career as a Consultant at MRE Consulting. John will be remembered as "one of the fathers of natural gas trading and a legend in the industry". John's wife, children, grandchildren, and family remained his most successful achievements. John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret, His Son Patrick, wife Jessica, children Gauge, Gunner, and Landry; Son Sean, wife Michelle, children Peyton and Riley; Son Cory, husband Gabriel Elliott; his mother, Mary Jo Chandler. A host of nephews and nieces who supported John and his family during his days in the hospital and after. John is loved and respected by many and will be missed beyond measure. I´m sorry for your loss. One of my best friends in Raytown was John´s younger sister, Julie. I met her at Robinson Elementry school. My family lived down the hill from the Chandlers in Woodson Estates in Raytown. My dad worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline and we moved to Houston in 1969. Julie and my best friend Maryl saved their money to come visit me in 1970. I have such wonderful memories of the Chandler family. I´m so sorry I didn´t get back to Raytown to visit MaryJo. Again I´m so sorry for your loss
